Peggy Joan Russell-Jones - Oeuvre

Through notes provided in a letter to her sister, Wendy, we have managed to compile a list of publications, plays and exhibitions which we will include below, plus some pictures of the artist at work.

In typical or characteristic fashion, Peggy contemplates the scene in front of her before embarking upon another work. Note the hat, yet another feature of her clothing, dating back to her early days as a teenager.

Dip Ed- on staff of Sydney University in reaching and research.

Studied Design it the Hammersmith College of Art and Building

London, and Edinburgh College of Art. Full-time playwright and

artist since 1977.

Jane Bradhurst's work is represented in the ANU, Artbank and private collections. Her main concerns are women, the artist and the environment. Apart from her Artwork, she was a published playwright and professional writer.

1972	Commissioned, Australia Council, Documentary on the Australian Bush.

1974	co-ordinator/painter of a multi-media presentation, " Australian Bush,'74" to draw attention to the bush as an aesthetic and diminishing resource. Co-artists were composer, John Sullivan, painters George Finey and William Fletcher, sculptor Helena Andersen, poet.t A.D- Hope, Judith Wright, David Campbell and Rosemary Dobson.

1975	Co-winner, Australia-wide competition for women playwrights to celebrate IW 75. Play performed at Pram Factory Melbourne and published.

1978	Co-ordinator, Science writer, painter for "Rainforest, '78", Albert Hall, Canberra, of a multi-media presentation of artists and scientists to draw attention to the Rainforest as an aesthetic, scientific and diminishing resource - with the team of artists as above, and including photographers Ederic Slater and Colin Totterdeil, ANU Biogeography and the ANU Forestry School, Graphics from Adrian Young and Designer, Derek Wrigley. Sound Engineer, Graeme Daly Commissioned writer, The Macmillan Company of Australia, as one of the authors of "The Heritage of Australia"

1979	Co-winner, Australia-wide competition with "Everyman", a modern morality play

1980	Play "Quartet" at Festival of Australian Drama, Playhouse ACT and published

1982	Commissioned illustrator "The Flora of Australia", one woman show, "Women in the Paradise Garden", Solander Gallery

1983	Commissioned WFF of AFC for a documentary script "Document of our Day". Published November, 1986
